Beta Amyloid Peptide is an amyloid plaques peptide in brains of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients, it consists of 43 amino acid. The peptides derive from the amyloid-beta precursor protein (APP), APP is cleaved by beta secretase and gamma secretase, then creates Amyloid beta in the cholesterol-dependent process and substrate presentation. Beta Amyloid then aggregates to flexible insoluble oligomers, and causes amyloidosis and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, these misfold oligomers can induce other β-Amyloid in misfoled forms, leading to the chain reaction of prion infection.
