Bombesin
Bombesin is a peptide with 14 amino acids, it is isolated originally from the Bombina. It has two homologe in mammals: neuromedin B, gastrin-releasing peptide. Bombesin peptide can simulate gastrin release from G cells, it can activate three different G-protein-coupled receptors as BBR-1, BBR-2, BBR-3. Furthermore, it has function together with cholecystokinin as the second major signal source of negative feedback to stop eating behaviour. Bombesin is also the tumor marker of cell carcinoma of lung cancer, gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, and neuroblastoma.
