FMRF
FMRF is a neuropeptide with an RFamide sequence at the C-terminus, it belong to the broad family of FMRF-related peptides(FaRPs). FMRFamide is an critical neuropeptide in several phyla, like Insecta, Nematoda, Mollusca, Annelida. It is an abundant neuropeptide in endocrine cells.
In invertebrates, the FMRF-related peptides can affect heat rate, blood pressure, feeding behavior, gut motility, reproduction. While in vertebrates, they can affect opioid receptors, and result in elicitation of morphine-induced antinociception and reduction of naloxone-sensitive antinociception.
