Kassinins
Kassinins belong to tachykinin family of neuropeptides, it is derived from the Kassina frog. It is secreted in the defense response, and involved in the neuropeptide signalling. The amino acid sequence of Kassinin is H-Asp-Val-Pro-Lys-Ser-Asp-Gln-Phe-Val-Gly-Leu-Met-NH2 (DVPKSDQFVGLM-NH2).
Kassinin is found in the central nervous of amphibian Kassina senegalensis. It has similar structure and action as other tachykinins, but especially effective in contracting smooth tissue and stimulating the micturition reflex.
