Kinetensin
Kinetensin is a neurotensin-like peptide, it is a rapidly metabolized analog of neurotensin. Kinetensin is isolated from pepsin-treated human plasma. It can induce histamine release in peritoneal mast cells, then increase vascular permeability in vivo.
Kinetensin is a nanopeptide, it has some sequence homology with the C-terminus of neurotensin. Different from neurotensin, kinetensin doesn’t exhibit the modulation of muscle contractility.
