Nesfatin
Nesfatin-1 is a neuropeptide, it is secreted by peripheral tissues, central and peripheral nervous system. It involves in the regulation of energy homeostasis, like food regulation, water intake, hunger and fat storage.
Nesfatin-1 also can pass through the blood-brain barrier in both directions. It can suppress feeding from the leptin independently, and increase insulin secretion from pancreatic beta islet cells.
