Temporins are a class of peptide isolated originally from the skin secretion of Rana temporaria. Other peptides of temporin family are also isolated from North American frogs like Rana sphenocephala.

Temporins are antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), they are highly targetable toward Gram-positive bacteria. Temporins can penetrate the cell wall and damage the inner membrane of bacteria. Temporins also can kill specific cancer cells once locally administered to the tumor.
