Urechistachykinins
Urechistachykinin I (UI) and Urechistachykinin II (UII) are tachykinins in Urechis unicinctus. These two novel neuropeptides are isolated from the ventral nerve cord of echiurod worm, Urechis unicinctus. These peptides provide contractile action on the inner circular body-wall muscle of the animal.
Urechistachykinins have homologous amino acid sequence with the vertebrate and insect tachykinins. The sequence of Urechistachykinins:
- Urechistachykinin I (H-Leu-Arg-Gln-Ser-Gln-Phe-Val-Gly-Ser-Arg-NH2)
- Urechistachykinin II (H-Ala-Ala-Gly-Met-Gly-Phe-Phe-Gly-Ala-Arg-NH2)
